Is Your Cat Eating Safe Cat Food?

by Guest Author

You probably think that since your cat's food has not been recalled that it is safe for your cat to eat. This is not necessarily true. Many store bought cat foods are so bad for your cat that they are actually hurting him.

Not only does some of the major brands of cat food contain no nutrition but they may even contain poison. Animals that are put down at the pound by using poison are on of the many meat sources that are found in cat food.

The poison that is used at the pound to put down the cats and dogs may still be present in your cat food. Even at high temperatures the poison does not cook out.

Not only do they use poisoned animals, but any flea collars they might have on or collars with metal id tags that are on the animal get ground up as well. They also use any road kill that can't be buried as a meat source.

When processing meat for human consumption a big barrel is placed nearby. Anything that they cannot sell to humans goes into this barrel and it then goes on to be used in cat food. This could include cancerous tissue or even a puss filled cyst.

That does not leave us with a very good nutritious cat food. At least now you don't have to wonder why the life expectancy of your cat is less then half of his natural life span.

The more I looked into the ingredients of store bought cat food the more appalled I became, to the point that I did not even want to touch my cats food to feed it to him.

There are some safe, nutritious foods out there for cats. To give your cat optimal health and a long life expectancy it is recommended to feed your cat a combination of safe cat food and healthy homemade food.

A different method for feeding your cat healthier would be to use holistic cat food. Find out if holistic cat food is right for your cat.
